FUMC Montgomery – Director of Family Ministries

Marisa Mayes, Director of Family Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, has been serving in ministry since 2019. Currently on the elder track, Marisa is dedicated to guiding families, children, and congregations through faith-based programs and support.

As Director of Family Ministries, Marisa creates spaces where faith is nurtured, relationships are strengthened, and God’s love is experienced. She holds a B.A. in Psychology (Child and Adolescent Development) from Southern New Hampshire University, blending academic insight with practical ministry to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of families.

Marisa is also honored to serve on the Board of Brantwood Children’s Home, supporting its mission to provide children in crisis with a safe, healing environment. Her leadership in children’s ministry, discipleship, and missions reflects her deep commitment to helping families thrive.

Outside of ministry, Marisa is part of a blended family, deeply understanding the challenges families face. She enjoys traveling and exploring ways to deepen her faith while supporting the next generation.
